Montacute is located in the Adelaide Hills above Athelstone/ Rostrevor, a 25 minute drive from Adelaide’s CBD and adjacent the ‘Black Hill’ and ‘Morialta’ Conservation parks. Known for it s Market Gardens and Orchards, Montacute provides quality produce, mainly cherries, stone fruit, lemons and apples. As well, the little known fact, the first gold in the Commonwealth was discovered in Montacute/ Castumbul in 1846, the remnants of mines and excavation still evident.
